MOUNTAINSIDE SANCTUARY

Perched high above the Housatonic River Valley, this antique farmland was once allowed to decline into ruin. Working closely with the Client, Wintergreen provided a pastoral vision for the rehabilitation of these fields, while introducing multiple vista points providing views over the property and onto the valley beyond. Historic stone walls, once used to demarcate livestock paddocks, have been restored. Strolling paths are interlaced with wildflower meadows, rocky gardens and orchards. A new swimming pool and patio provide respite in the warmer months.
